Gandhis
Everyday gandhis® are ordinary
people doing the extraordinary work of facilitating healing and recovery
in individuals traumatized by violent conflict. Through listening and
dialogue, they build bridges between victims and oppressors, between exiles
and the communities that must reintegrate those exiles in order to become
whole. By building relationships among people across lines of division,
they help communities prevent future violence. By studying patterns of
past violence, they can predict where violence is likely to break out
and take steps to avert it. Everyday gandhis® are peacebuilders. They
are the people who are building peace on earth, one human being at a time.
They bring breathtaking courage, heart and creativity to their work. And,
they bring patience.
